<p class="Paragraph">The clipboard can contain various types of data, including text, images, graphics, cells, and sound files, but only one of these elements at a time. In the <span class="T1">Paste Special</span> dialog, you can choose the format for inserting the clipboard contents.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:switch select="Program" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><help:case select="CALC">The dialog appearance changes depending on the type of contents in the clipboard. If the clipboard contains spreadsheet cells, the <help:link Id="65731" Eid="inhalt">Paste Special</help:link> dialog for spreadsheet cells appears. This is described below. In all other cases, the normal <span class="T1">Paste Special</span> dialog appears and this is described first.</help:case></help:switch></p>

<p class="Paragraph"><help:switch select="Program" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><help:case select="CALC"><help:help-text value="visible">If you select the <text:s text:c="" xmlns:text="http://openoffice.org/2000/text"/><span class="T1">Skip empty cells</span> option, the target <text:s text:c="" xmlns:text="http://openoffice.org/2000/text"/>cell will remain unaffected when you insert an empty cell.</help:help-text>Also, when selecting the "Multiplication" or "Division" option the target cell will remain unaffected.</help:case></help:switch></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:switch select="Program" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><help:case select="CALC">Unless the check box <span class="T1">Skip empty cells</span> is selected, empty cells will be taken into account. An empty cell in the source area will replace the contents of the corresponding cell in the target area if it is inserted without any operations. For the multiplication and division operations, an empty cell is converted to a cell with 0 as its content. This means that the result of the multiplication is always 0, and the division operation results in the error message #VALUE!.</help:case></help:switch></p>
